Longarm Quilting Services

Batavia Quilt n Sew provides Edge to Edge, Custom and Heirloom quilting for your quilt. All quilting designs are stitched using a Bernina Q24 on a standard sized frame. The Q-Matic System of computerized patterns is used for Edge to Edge designs and some Custom Designs. Other designs can be stitched freehand. Quilt top design consultation will be done before the start of any project to make sure you are happy with the plan.

Type of Service

Edge to Edge Design

  • Basic E2E is a continuous line all over design without regards to borders. There are many patterns to choose from. Stitched with the Bernina Q-Matic system. Cost is $0.02 per square inch.
  • E2E with border is basic continuous design in the central area and an additional $0.03 per square inch for the border area. Stitched with the Bernina Q-Matic system.

Custom Designs

  • Basic Custom involves different quilting designs for each block, sashing and borders. Stitched with the Bernina Q-Matic System at a cost of $0.03 per square inch
  • Special Custom involves more complex quilting for each block and borders. This service can involve freehand quilting designs, stitching in the ditch or around applique and basic echoing. Cost is $0.04 – $0.05 per square inch

Heirloom Designs

  • This is more intense quilting with intricate freehand quilting more involved ruler work and more dense patterns than Special Custom.
  • This can involve multiple thread color changes and burying the tails.
  • Cost starts at $0.05 per square inch determined after consultation

Extras

Quilt Binding

  • Stitching to front of the quilt is $0.05 per linear inch

Basting

  • I offer basting service, if you prefer to quilt your quilt top yourself by hand or on your home machine, but struggle with the layout and keeping the layers together.
  • Your quilt sandwich will be mounted straight and flat and basted at 4-inch intervals.
  • Cost is $0.005 per square inch.

Thread

  • I use generally use SoFine thread from Superior Threads or Glide from Filtec. Other threads such as variegated or metallic at your request but may incur an additional cost.
  • Basic costs include one thread change. Additional charge for thread color change beyond the first two colors.

Triming

We will custom trim all of the quilt edges if desired.

Embroidered Labels

  • Attaching your label $10
  • Embroidered corner hanging labels $25
  • Specialty label to be determined after consultation
